Vestal Neighborhoods Deck Out for Christmas
While traveling home from Smoking Joe's a couple of nights ago, Chris and I decided to take the long way home and check out some Christmas lights. We took West Hill Road off Route 26 and drove down Glenwood Road checking out all the Christmas displays all the way down to Main Street.
Then I saw that Spectrum News did a story about a neighborhood in Vestal on Underwood Road where a bunch of neighbors decided to decorate their whole neighborhood this year. According to Spectrum News, not only did Sadie Purdy encourage more of her neighbors to decorate, but they even took it one step further by having a live Santa Claus with dancing elves handing out candy canes to little kids in cars.
So if you're planning on going out driving around to look at Christmas lights, make sure you check out those two roads in Vestal.
You can also also check out the Broome County Festival of Lights presented by Delta Engineers at Otsiningo Park. That cost $15 a car load with all the money going to local charities, and veterans can drive through for free. Click here to get more information on that.
And finally, if you are setting up your own holiday lights display, send us a picture of your creation by the end of the day on Sunday December 13th, and you could win prizes from Arctic Bear Plumbing Heating Air and Water Treatment, and the Oakdale Mall. Click here for more information on that and to submit your photos.
