Uber Says You Must Show Proof Before Getting In Their Cars
Have you taken an Uber in the past 6 months since the COVID-19 pandemic began?
The rule is that you must wear a mask upon entering the Uber car, but you know that not EVERYONE abides by the rules and things can get awkward. If you roll up to the Uber driver without a mask and try to get into their car, it puts them in a bad situation. Not everyone wants to be the bad guy and kick you out, ESPECIALLY because you just wasted their time by coming out to your location and they are trying to make money.
Uber has responded to the complaints of drivers and they are taken action.
Now, before you get an Uber you have to prove that you have one and are wearing a mask. How are you going to prove that you have a mask? You are going to have to show picture proof. According to WIVB:
The San Francisco-based company unveiled a new policy Tuesday stipulating that if a driver reports to Uber that a rider wasn’t wearing a mask, the rider will have to provide Uber with a selfie with one strapped on the next time they summon a car on the world’s largest ride-hailing service.
The mask verification rule expands upon a similar requirement that Uber imposed on its drivers in May to help reassure passengers worried about being exposed to the novel coronavirus that has upended society. Now, Uber believes it’s time to help make its drivers feel safer, too.
Bottom line: WEAR A MASK!
