As some sources, like worldometers are putting the U.S. death toll from the coronavirus at 204,118 as of 11:12 GMT September 21 and the total number of cases just over seven million, some states that had been hard-hit by the virus early are continuing to show success in controlling the spread of COVID-19.

September 20, New York reported 2 deaths downstate and 862 new cases, six of those in Broome County, which has a total of 1,346 cases and 82 deaths.   

Delaware and Chenango Counties in the Southern Tier have not had any new cases for at least a week.  Chenango County has held at 245 cases and 7 deaths since the report last September 13 while Delaware County has been at 117 cases and six deaths since September 10. 

Cortland County added one case over the weekend but seven cases since September 18 for a total of 196 positives and 1 death. 

Tioga County had an additional case since the September 18 report for a total of 230 and 25 deaths.
