Today is national dog day! My little dog's name is Bentley, and he's a Yorkshire terrier aka a 'Yorky' and he is three years old. I've actually had him for almost 3 years as well.

When we got him my daughter had been bugging me to get a teacup Yorky and so I started doing some research and decided I didn't want to teacup because they were just too small. In fact I really didn't want to dog at all. I guess I was thinking they need to be walked and you have to potty trained him you have to take him outside to go to the bathroom and then pick up after them basically too much work.

But one day I was feeling really sad and I decided to go look at puppies. And that is when I saw a Bentley and I knew he was supposed to come home with me. I asked if I could see him and they brought him into a little closing area. They also brought in this adorable white dog that looked like a cotton ball. She crawled up onto my lap and fell asleep but Bentley attacked all the toys then he peed and pooped on the floor, and I just knew he was mine! They really thought I should take home the white dog who was calm and adorable where Bentley was crazy and wild which I thought made him even cuter! So I said I would be back and I went home and waited for the kids to come home from school and told him we were going to go look at a dog. Of course my daughter fell in love just like I did and we took him home. He has been the greatest thing ever! I did need to take him to obedience classes. I never had a dog before so the class is helped me just as much as it helped him. It taught him potty training and to listen to certain commands and to not run out the door when it opens. And people have said I was sent to get him because no one else would have had the patience.

I never knew you could love an animal as much as I love my little Bentley, he really is my little baby. And I walk him an I potty trained him and I still pick up after him and it's all worth it! Here are some pictures of my little guy!
