Tioga Downs Is Betting on Getting Betting License
If you've been to Tioga Downs Casino Resort lately, you may have noticed as soon as you walked in the front door, the area on the right, which was where they had their horse betting area, is now closed off and under construction.
According to WBNG, Tioga Downs is working on that portion of the casino to turn it into the betting area, should they be granted a license from New York State to start accepting bets on sporting events.
Jim Weed, the marketing manager at Tioga Downs, told WBNG that their race season will start in May and they hope to have the Sportsbook up and running by the end of May or early June.
The New York State Gaming Commission has posted its rules for sports betting and has started the 60-day public comment period according to WBNG.
Soon you will be able to bet on any sporting events like they do out in Vegas.
The casino, restaurants, and hotel will remain open during the construction and you can continue to place wagers on horse races from several different racetracks.
