The casino, horse racing and resort in Nichols is finishing construction on its Fanduel sports betting area in anticipation of the legalization of wagering in New York.

Four casinos, including Tioga Downs, have been approved as sports wagering venues. The New York State Gaming Commission is still working out the details of the regulations and enforcement of new wagering, which is expected to bring thousands, if not millions, of dollars into the state in the form of licensing fees and taxes.

Meanwhile, Tioga Downs has come out with a calendar of special events ranging from fireworks, giveaways and special jackpots to a Weiner Dog Trot and high-stakes horse races for trotters and pacers.
