The Most ‘2020’ Elf On The Shelf You’ll See This Year

Well, I have some exciting news, Tara's "Elf of the Shelf" is back for her 10th year. I didn't know if Suzie would be able to make it to New York because of travel restrictions but she's here and not taking any chances.

She arrived Thanksgiving night and is self-quarantining until December 11th. Suzie has been part of the Pitcher family since she was 6 years old and Tara loves her as much now as she did in the beginning.

If you haven't heard of the "Elf on the Shelf" let me help you out. Have you ever wondered how Santa could know if you're naughty or nice? It had been a secret but now we know, Santa sends friendly elves to scout for him.

Every night while your child is sleeping, your Shelf Elf (that's my name for it) flies to the North Pole to report to the jolly man himself. When they come back they usually appear at a new location.

They hang around until Christmas Eve when their job is done until next year. Tara discovered years ago that if she writes a note to Suzie before she goes to bed that night, she'll stay around until the end of the year.

THERE'S ONE BIG RULE: Don't touch the Shelf Elf because they might lose their magic. If your Elf on the Shelf is accidentally touched, you have three options:

1. Write a note to your elf or Santa apologizing for touching your elf.
2. Sprinkle a little cinnamon next to your elf.
3. Sing a Christmas carol with your family!
