Do you believe in ghosts? Maybe you are into paranormal activity. Are there just some things that happen around us that we can not understand or come up with a logical explanation? It's a tough question for me to answer. I can't pretend to know a fraction of why things happen around us or how to rationally come up with answers.

I tend to not believe in ghosts or paranormal activity, but I'm open-minded to be swayed. I've taken tours of supposed haunted buildings, but never heard or saw anything out of the ordinary, including spending an overnight at the Roberson Museum back in the 1980s.

Several years ago,  a few of my co-workers and I spent time with a local person who specializes in the paranormal, guiding us through the Sherwood Hotel in Greene as well as a local private residence where paranormal activity has supposedly occurred. I must say, I was impressed with the tour and learned a lot about the history of these buildings, along with how a person goes about searching for ghosts.

There are many places across the United States that have been identified as having some sort of paranormal activity, including several throughout New York State. Below, I've listed six places that are purported to be haunted or have a secret past. Maybe you've visited one of them and have had a paranormal experience for yourself.

Is this paranormal thing real, or just imaginations gone wild? Only the ghosts know for sure. That is if there are any. If so, I'd prefer them to keep their distance from me, thank you.
