Police: Man Stole “Twisted Tea” After Lottery Machine Malfunction
A disgruntled Lotto player is accused of stealing more than $70 worth of alcoholic beverages from an Otsego County convenience store.
Authorities say 45-year-old Jeremy Barcoski of Lincoln Park, New Jersey has been charged with larceny in connection with the alleged theft from a Speedway store.
According to New York State Police, troopers were sent to the business on Route 8 in Unadilla after a man reportedly walked out with four boxes of Twisted Tea.
Police determined Barcoski did not receive the $30 in change he expected from a lottery vending machine in the store, so he allegedly told a clerk he was going to take the beverages.
The purloined Twisted Tea reportedly had a retail value of $75.80.
Barcoski was issued an appearance ticket for Unadilla town court.
