Binghamton police are looking for a suspect in connection with a shooting outside a tavern.

Authorities say the incident occurred late Monday night during a fight involving two men near Dan Dee Bar and Grill at 215 Robinson Street.

Police had been sent to the neighborhood just before 11:30 p.m. to investigate a reported larceny. While officers were on their way, they were advised of a report of gunshots near Robinson Street and Howard Avenue.

Minutes later, police tried to stop a suspicious vehicle on Riverside Drive. When the vehicle didn't stop, officers followed it to Lourdes Hospital.

At the hospital, police discovered the 39-year-old driver had been shot in the leg. They were advised he had been in a fight with another man near Dan Dee Bar and Grill. He apparently was shot during the altercation.
