Photos: When Avicii Came to Binghamton

Many artists and fans are still reeling in the wake of DJ superstar Avicii’s death at just 28 years old.

CNN reports that Avicii was vacationing on Oman on the Arabian peninsula when he passed. They posted a photo of him boating with friends just a day before his death with what appeared to be a drink in his hand.

Avicii retired from touring two years ago, citing the lifestyle that came with working on the road. It’s well known he ended up with acute pancreatitis connected to his drinking. However, TMZ is reporting Avicii’s friends were concerned his drinking was out of control in recent months.

I had the chance to photograph Avicii in Binghamton in 2012--a year before his first big crossover hit. The show was packed with students enjoying their first taste of his mixing live.
