Vestal Police are investigating the discovery of a small packet of methamphetamine on the floor of a daycare facility located in a Vestal School District administration building.

The packet was reportedly found in the cafeteria March 27 but parents weren’t notified by Cub Care Children’s Center until Monday, April 1.

The independent child care provider apologized to families for the delay in notification and is working with the school district on improving procedures.

There were no reports of children coming into contact with the material that police had tested and found positive indications for Methamphetamine.  There have also been no reports of injuries.

Several parents who had children in the facility said they were angry that it took the daycare three days to tell them and some were reevaluating their choice of day care services for their children,
