21-year-old Jared Talbot is charged with over-driving, torturing or injuring animals and failure to provide proper care and sustenance.

Authorities and the Susquehanna Animal Shelter were called by a concerned citizen to check on the condition of animals kept on the property.

Shelter officials described the pigs as very underweight without clean food and water and practically swimming in manure and mud.  They were removed from the shed and are being cared for by a pig rescue group.

Talbot is to appear in Town of Laurens Court at a later date.
