2020 has been a different and disappointing year for many with so many local events that we look forward to every year being canceled. The DICK'S Sporting Goods Open was set to celebrate its 50th year at En-Joie.

Then there was the Spiedie Fest and Balloon Rally at Otsiningo Park, a Southern Tier tradition during the first weekend of August for the past 36 years. Even though there have been many changes, one thing returned and it was a welcome sight for sore eyes.

It's the return of the holiday lights displays at Otsiningo Park. It was the Hometown Holiday Lights Spectacular for many years but has been dormant since 2010. Spiedie Fest took it over and changed the name to the Broome County Festival of Lights.

You can drive through the park and see all of the lights every night beginning at 5 p.m. until January 10th. Besides enjoying the lights, they've done some special events during this time as well. Last Saturday, November 28th, they held a fireworks show and they plan on another one on December 12th and New Year's Eve.

This Saturday, December 5th, they are bringing a Spiedie Fest tradition back. They'll have four of the Hot Air Balloons that you know and love glowing from 6 to 8 p.m., weather permitting.

For social distancing purposes, you will have to remain in your vehicle at all times to ensure everyone's safety. Go here for more info and updates for this Saturday's Holiday Hot Air Balloon Night Glow at Otsiningo Park.
