I know that Summer isn't even officially here yet but it's never too early to think about Fall. Here are some of the most colorful events in the Southern Tier in alphabetical order.

The General Clinton Canoe Regatta runs every Memorial weekend at the General Clinton Park in Bainbridge New York. This year, the Regatta will run from May 27-29.

It's the longest single-day flat water canoe race in the world. It's one of the most colorful events in the Southern Tier because of all the different kinds and colors of canoes in the water at the same time.

The LUMA Festival was founded in Binghamton in 2015 and was a Projection Arts Festival. The organizers were hoping for 3,000 people but over 30,000 people showed up instead and the numbers continue to grow every year.

In its 8th year, LUMA will light up downtown Binghamton on September 9 and 10 beginning at 8:30 p.m. both nights. This colorful event has even caught the eye of the CBS Sunday Morning show. Get it: eye, CBS? If I have to point it out then it might not be funny.

Spiedie Fest has been going on in the Southern Tier for 37 years and counting. For over a decade, it's been held at Otsiningo Park during the first full weekend in August. Last year because of the COVID restrictions, it was held from October 8th to the 10th.

In 2022, it's back to the original weekend and Otsiningo Park will be lit up with colorful-looking balloons and more on August 5, 6, and 7.

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID, the colors of strawberries will be back in Owego. Owego's Strawberry Festival will be back for its 40th year on June 17 and 18 for the Strawberry Jubilee.

This event is much more than strawberries with a Friday block party and fireworks along with a parade on Saturday. Owego will be filled with entertainers, craft vendors, and more.
