Illegal Immigrant Arrested for Drunk Driving in Delaware County

A Brooklyn resident, pulled over for drunk driving in Delaware County, is found to be an illegal immigrant with a warrant for a previous drunk driving charge downstate.

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say 51 year old Mohamed Yvonnas is also charged with driving an unregistered vehicle when he was pulled over at 9:52 p.m. May 15 in the Town of Meredith.

Yvonnas is charged with driving with a blood alcohol content at .08% or higher, driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Yvonnas was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Town of Meredith Court at a later date.
