More than thirty people were reported injured after a bus went off an Interstate 81 exit ramp in Pennsylvania.

Authorities say the crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Sunday as the driver apparently lost control of the southbound bus at the Hegins exit in Schuylkill County.

The bus went across the exit area and struck an embankment. It then traveled about 50 yards before coming to a stop in a wooded area.

Dozens of high school girls and volunteers from LCBC Church were returning to its Manheim campus following a retreat.

According to a statement posted on the church website, everyone on the bus was hurt. Most were treated at hospitals and released but several were reported to be in critical condition.

Pennsylvania state police investigators are trying to determine what cause the driver to lose control of the bus.
