How Much Gold Is In The World?!

How much gold is in the world?  I am pretty sure that I am the only person asking that question.  If I had the money, I would stockpile gold, and not for the financial reasons but because I just love the look of gold!

I am not sure how accurate this statistic is but according to this interesting tidbit, if you melted down all of the gold in the world it would only fill 3.27 Olympic swimming pools.

I am wondering if my collection and the gold from the north side of Endicott could fill at least one of those pools!  :)
