Here’s Your Chance to Rub Shoulders with the Royal Family
For the past several months, I've been working really hard on tracing my ancestry and the ancestry of my husband. Not only is it important for me to know where I come from, but I want my son to know about his roots, too.
For Mother's Day, my husband surprised me with an Ancestry DNA test, which I took, sent it off, and then waited rather impatiently for the results of. Once they came, I was in total shock. My DNA results revealed some pretty major surprises, including that my ancestry is "63% Great Britain." I had no clue that any of my family hailed from England, Scotland or Wales.
My husband's side of the family, however, is pretty cut and dry. He's essentially half German and half English. As a matter of fact, I've been able to trace Jay's family back to England where they once held a social status just below the rank of knight. His family is mentioned in the Doomsday Book and they were the owners of the Wentworth Woodhouse, the largest privately owned home in Europe:
Jay and his family may no longer be considered just a small step below royalty, but that doesn't mean that they can't work alongside them, and you could too! The royal family of England is searching for a new senior communications officer who will represent the households of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Prince William and Dutchess Kate), as well as that of Prince Harry of Wales.
If you've got "extensive experience within a marketing, media or PR office, with a relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) and, ideally, have experience of working within the charity sector," this could be the job you've been searching for! You only live once, right? So what are you waiting for? Check out this post on LinkedIn for more on the position.
