Overnight Wednesday or early Thursday morning, the air-supported dome of the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex on Airport Road collapsed, according to a GoFundMe started on behalf of the facility that was shared on the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex Facebook page. No word on when the dome over 125,000 square feet of indoor athletic facilities can be repaired.

A listing on Wikipedia bills the facility as the largest air-supported dome in the United States." In addition to housing a full-size soccer field, the facilities contains a restaurant, banquet facilities and offices.

The website says the facility was the home in 2009 of the women's tackle football club, the Binghamton Tiger Cats.

When it was developed, the company says it was able to inflate the massive dome over the athletic fields in under two weeks.

Damage assessments are expected to continue for several days.
