The Democrat is also authorizing the Health Department to regulate the sale of the chemicals used in vaping products and carrier oils that pose a health risk.

Cuomo calls vaping “a public health crisis” that is costing lives, many of them young people.

Cuomo says the problem is made worse by unscrupulous vaping companies marketing flavors to young people.

The Governor’s proposed regulations would extend beyond stores physically located in New York State.  Cuomo says he will advance legislation restricting the online, phone and mail order sale of e-liquids and e-cigarettes only to licensed vaping product retailers.  That restriction already applies to conventional tobacco products.

The Governor delivers his State of the State message on January 8th in Albany.
