G-Eazy and Halsey Were Working on Records Just Days Before Public Split
G-Eazy revealed that he and ex-girlfriend Halsey were working on albums together before their public breakup earlier this week.
In an interview with Billboard, the "No Limit" rapper discussed their collaborations just days before their split was announced.
"We were just in the studio the other night and we made a couple records," he told the publication. "She’s one of the most talented people in music. I tell her this all the time like there’s only like six of you on the planet that are this good. And she’s really rare! It’s just dope."
The rapper, born Gerald Gillum, then described how special it was to be making music with the person he loves.
He added: "I told you how much I love collaborating but when you get to collaborate with the person you’re in love with and share this experience of making a song and performing a song. And the person you’re sharing it with is that…that’s really dope."
For several months, G-Eazy and Halsey have been performing their collaboration "Him & I" from the rapper's latest record The Beautiful & Damned at their live shows.
Halsey announced their split earlier this week via her Instagram story writing, "I feel the need to inform my fans. G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart. I'm eager to continue the upcoming passage of time dedicating myself to my art and my career and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best."
Fans also noticed that Halsey deleted the majority of photos with her ex on Instagram.
The pair dated for one year.
