Former Endicott Johnson Factory Plant Goes Back to Broome County
The wrecking ball may be in Broome County’s court now that the New York State Court of Appeals has upheld a decision for the county to take foreclosure on an old Endicott Johnson factory building on North Page Avenue.
Developer Alvaro Munoz has said several times he sent a check for back taxes to the County but Broome officials refused to accept it. The County said it never got the money.
Munoz said he had good plans in place for development of the derelict property, but neighbors have continued to complain about the eyesore and there have been reports of illegal activity in and around the building.
Broome County officials say they plan to have the former factory torn down by the end of the year and the site cleared in preparation for new development.
