Downtown Binghamton Returns to 'Normal' After LUMA

Streets and parking spaces in the heart of downtown Binghamton have reopened in the aftermath of the LUMA Projection Arts Festival.

Preparations for the annual event resulted in street closures for a few days. The underground levels of the State Street parking garage were closed last week to set up equipment for the "Phasing Rain" light and sound feature.

Thousands of people ventured into the lower portion of the parking ramp Friday and Saturday nights to experience the work's international debut.

By Monday morning, all of the audio and lighting equipment had been removed from the garage.

The lower levels of the facility were getting back to normal with a few parked vehicles observed.

Some accumulated trash left over from the weekend festival remained to be hauled away near the parking ramp's entrance.
