If you were planning on using Romaine lettuce in your salad, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that you throw it away.

Even if you have romaine lettuce sitting in your fridge and you have already eaten some of it without getting sick, the Centers for Disease Control urge you to throw it away.

According to CNN, there has been a major E. coli outbreak in romaine lettuce. There was an issue with Romaine lettuce earlier this year but this one seems to have affected even more people.

CNN reports that there were 32 people in 11 different states who have been hospitalized due to illness from the tainted lettuce. And those states are spread out all over the country from New Hampshire to California.

So far there have been no fatalities, but obviously, you don't want to get sick or to send your Thanksgiving guests to the hospital either. So again if someone is serving a salad featuring romaine lettuce for Thanksgiving, don't eat it.

If you have eaten some Romaine lettuce and you don't feel well, contact your doctor or go to the hospital. E. coli can kill and it's nothing to take lightly.
