Dads and daughters in Central New York will soon be taking their tradition to their living rooms as the annual Father Daughter Valentine Ball goes virtual amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

The Upstate Foundation's Valentine Ball will be online this year on February 9 at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature a silent auction, magic and balloons, crafts, gifts, themed activities, and, of course, lots of movin' and groovin'!

All proceeds from the Father Daughter Ball benefit Upstate Golisano Children's Hospital in Syracuse, and both tickets and sponsorship opportunities are now available online. Tickets for one couple cost $45, and each additional daughter costs $10.

Rosie Snowdon is just one of the many kids impacted by the donations to events like the Valentine Ball for Upstate Golisano. She was first diagnosed in July 2018 with rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer that most often affects children's soft tissue, in July 2018 when she was just 3 years old. Rosie beat her cancer in just ten months, but it came back in September 2019 and she started undergoing chemotherapy treatments for the second time.

Thankfully, Rosie was able to ring the bell at Upstate Golisano and move into the final stage of her chemotherapy in April 2020.
