Police say a man faces assault counts after he allegedly punched two people during a fight in the town of Windsor.

Authorities say 34-year-old Timothy Nelson of Conklin was arrested Tuesday afternoon.

According to New York State Police, Nelson had been wanted in connection with a disturbance that happened on State Line Road on Friday.

Troopers determined Nelson had punched a man in the face several times. He then allegedly punched a woman in the face and chest.

Investigators say troopers eventually found Nelson at his home and arrested him. He was charged with two misdemeanor counts of third-degree assault.

Nelson was arraigned in Windsor town court and released on his own recognizance. He is to reappear in court at a future date.
