Logan Paul Says ‘Change Is Necessary’ After YouTube Shooting
YouTuber Logan Paul — who, himself, has recently been embroiled in a scandal after appearing to make light of suicide in an early 2018 upload — has called for change hours after a woman tore into YouTube's offices in San Bruno, California and shot three people before killing herself.
According to USA Today, 39-year-old San Diego resident Nasim Aghdam wounded a man and two women before turning the gun on herself, and her father told the outlet she may have targeted the company for "censoring her videos and had stopped paying her for her content." And the event had Paul so shaken up, he decided against uploading a new vlog for the day and, instead, advocated for action.
"To my online family... I will not be posting a vlog in light of today's shooting at @YouTube. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones. I’m also tired of typing and reading that exact sentence^ CHANGE. IS. NECESSARY," he wrote to heated response from followers.
"Yes it is... and WE ARE THAT CHANGE IF WE ALL SPEAK UP AND STAND FOR WHATS RIGHT," one wrote, while another noted "Finally u are doing some thing smart I thought u were gonna record the YouTube headquarters."
Paul's comments come just days after Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus and more celebs joined huge crowds of Americans gathered in cities across the country to advocate for sensible gun-control laws as a part of the March for Our Lives.
