Cat Coalition Looking for Fosterers

There are kittens galore across central New York right now, and one local group has advice for shelters, volunteers and fostering families to manage this growing population of felines.

Central NY Cat Coalition is looking for “sub-fosterers” who will care for the babies for the first few weeks of their lives, according to CNY Central. But the coalition’s president, Courtney Armbruster, warned potential foster families and said kittens are actually extremely high maintenance.

Contrary to what Disney movies tell us, Armbruster said cats are actually lactose intolerant, according to CNY Central. They need to be fed goat’s milk or a milk replacement like KMR every two hours for the first three weeks of their lives.
