Students who wish to participate are subject to a number of qualifications including a specific grade point average, have completed required prerequisite credits and apply by September 30 of their third year at Elmira.

Binghamton University's School of Pharmacy has similar 3 plus 4 agreements with Cornell University, Wells College and Ithaca College.  BU has 2 plus 4 programs with SUNY Broome, SUNY Onondaga and SUNY Nassau Community College.
