Broome Taking Applications for Community Project Grants
Broome County is taking applications for grants from the Small Community Fund.
$150,000 is being divided in grants from $1,200 to $30,000 for community improvement projects.
Since it was created in 2018, the fund has supported more than 30 projects in the county including extending a New York State Electric and Gas natural gas line in the Town of Maine, Americans with Disabilities Act upgrades for municipalities and park improvements.
Officials say the fund is intended to help smaller communities and non-profits with projects that may not be eligible for alternate funding sources. The priority for funding is placed on meeting goals in the Broome County Comprehensive Plan.

Grant applications are due by May 13.
