Broome Seeking New Administrator for Willow Point Nursing Home
The "Help Wanted" sign has been posted for one of the highest-paid jobs in Broome County government.
Just over a year since Adam Aranov was hired as the new administrator for Willow Point Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, the county is seeking someone to fill the post.
The nursing home administrator position is one of the "Featured Jobs" highlighted on Broome County's website with annual salary listed at nearly $139,000.
County Executive Jason Garnar said Aranov's home is in the Rochester area "so he's had to travel quite a bit" since becoming Willow Point administrator.
During a WNBF Radio interview on Thursday, Garnar said Aranov has indicated he wants to find another place to work but "he's not going to leave until we hire" a new administrator. He said Aranov has "committed to staying here" until a successor has been found.
Garnar didn't seem surprised that Aranov's time at the helm of the Vestal nursing home will be relatively short. He praised the work he's done since becoming administrator.
Garnar said "another 30 or 40 residents" have been added at Willow Point since Aranov has been overseeing the operation.
Aranov did not return calls seeking comment on his decision to leave the nursing home administrator's position.
The county legislature last March approved a controversial deal with Bronx-based Centers for Care to provide consulting services to Willow Point. Garnar said that arrangement has been working well.
