Weary of COVID Resurgence, Many Binghamton Area Businesses Update Mask Policies [GALLERY]
There are so many questions about whether or not a national mask mandate will be put into place again as well as which businesses and organizations have modified their own policies to require people to wear masks, even those who are fully vaccinated.
While this situation is ever-evolving and constantly changing, what we know at this time is that in New York, anyone who is unvaccinated is asked to wear a mask, in accordance with federal CDC guidelines. Additionally, masks are required for all people over the age of two when they are in a public place as well as for all people, regardless of vaccination status when they are on public transit, in health care and long-term care facilities, detention centers, and in homeless shelters.
For the time being, businesses that operate in New York state are being allowed to make their own decision whether or not to implement or modify their mask and or social distancing requirements. These businesses in the Southern Tier have recently modified their mask policy and you might like to know before you go.
