My husband and I are going to be spending our first Valentine's Day together as a married couple, and I am so excited for it! With that in mind, here's a couple great ways to be more romantic with your own partner this time of the year.

  • Find places near their work that you can meet them at for a date night. If they usually meet you near your place of work or at some place close to the house, consider putting their commute first and meet them near their job instead. It's a small gesture that they will definitely notice.
  • Turn the tables and buy your partner flowers or chocolates or some other surprise that you wouldn't normally get for them. And it doesn't have to be on Valentine's Day or their birthday, pick a normal weekday as that will make the gesture that much more surprising.
  • Give them a massage without expecting a massage in return. Helping your partner to relax and unwind without the expectation of reciprocation is a real form of love and appreciation. Do things for your partner without getting mad if they don't do the same for you.

Romance shouldn't die after getting married, having kids, or after so many years together. You can't be romantic with anyone else, and everyone loves to be wooed, so you should make romance with your partner a priority.
