AllSiders Founder: New Binghamton Site for August Event
The organizer of the AllSiders Reunion says there's an agreement to hold the event in another city of Binghamton park.
Dean De Falco, who founded the community get-together, had expressed disappointment after Mayor Richard David indicated the annual event would not be allowed in Recreation Park this summer.
David had said there had been complaints regarding "excessive urination" and "excessive alcohol" after last year's reunion. Although the mayor didn't want the event to return to Rec Park this year, he said it could take place at Sandy Beach Park on the South Side.
De Falco didn't like that idea because the park isn't centrally located and it lacks bathrooms and electricity.
On Friday, De Falco said after discussing the situation with the mayor, they've agreed this summer's AllSiders Reunion will be held at Cheri Lindsey Memorial Park on the North Side.
Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, De Falco said David indicated the city will provide assistance in preparing the park for the event.
De Falco said this year's AllSiders Reunion is to take place on Saturday, August 18.
