snow accumulations of a total of 2 to 5 inches are expected.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will overspread the area from southwest to northeast Wednesday morning. A break in the snow is possible Wednesday afternoon before steadier snow redevelops Wednesday evening. The snow tapers off from west to east overnight February 27-28.

Authorities say people in the advisory area should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the commutes mainly in the afternoon February 27 and the morning of February 28.

Higher snowfall amounts are possible in the higher elevations of the Poconos and Catskills.

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
