The National Weather Service is predicting several inches of snow and a glazing of ice overnight for a majority of New York State as well as Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Winter Weather Advisories have been issued generally for everything west of Sullivan, Otsego and Lewis Counties in New York.  Winter Weather Advisories are also in effect for Susquehanna, Bradford and Wayne Counties in Pennsylvania until Thursday morning.

All of the Northern Tier of Pa. was added into the advisory area for 7 p.m. February 12 to 7 a.m. February 13 early Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service in Binghamton says it expects mixed precipitation with snow fall accumulations ranging from one to three inches in the Binghamton area to up to six inches in western New York.  In addition, a light glaze of ice accumulation is anticipated from around 7 p.m. February 12 to 9 a.m. February 13 in areas to the south, including Binghamton and Owego, and starting around 10 p.m. and continuing until noon for Cortland, Chenango and counties to the north.

Motorists are advised to plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute on Thursday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission remind motorist to adjust speeds based on driving conditions as winter weather impacts Pennsylvania roadways.
