There’s something magical about the Christmas season and the memories associated with it. Memories of seeing family who live far away, memories of delicious meals shared, memories of cutting down Christmas trees and decorating as a family, and for some, memories of horse drawn carriage rides.

Those who have been on a horse drawn carriage ride savor the special memories of being snuggled under a blanket, sipping on a warm drink, and listening to the clomp-clomp of the horse’s hooves as the carriage winds through its journey.

Whether it’s been a lifetime since you went on a horse drawn carriage ride, or you’ve never been, the town of Montrose wants to help you create some special new Christmas memories during its Christmas in Montrose celebration.

Montrose will come to life December 3, 4, and 5, 2021 with events for all ages. Santa and his reindeer will make an appearance, local shops will open their doors, there will be craft fairs, toe warming foods to try, a Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk, Christmas bazaar, a kid’s festival, parade of lights, and so much more – including free horse drawn carriage rides.

Horse drawn carriage rides will be offered at the Courthouse at 31 Lake Avenue in Montrose on a first come, first served basis on Saturday, December 4 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The rides are made possible by the June & Earle Wootton Fund at the Community.

Be sure to check out what other fun events Montrose has in store during its three day Christmas celebration.
