For those of us who aren't football fans (or just love dogs), the Puppy Bowl is the most exciting sporting event in February. If you're like me, this year is even more exciting since a couple of dogs are from Upstate New York.

Whether the first Sunday in February genuinely gets you excited about football or not, there's no way to deny the cuteness that is the puppy bowl. Each year, before the big game puppies from all over the country that are up for adoption play with toys. Do they pretend there are teams and real scores? Yes. Do they matter? Not at all.

This year, you have some added interest in the puppy bowl because two of the rescue dogs featured are from the Hudson Valley. According to New York Upstate, Granny Smith came to Paws Crossed Animal Rescue located in Elmsford, NY in Westchester County when she was only three days old and will be on "Team Fluff" playing against "Team Ruff." The name comes from the fact that her mother's name is Apple and all of the puppies are named after different apple varieties.

The other dog is also from Paws Crossed Animal rescue and his name is George. George was drafted to "Team Oldies" who will be playing "Team Goldies." Since the taping of the puppy bowl, both dogs have found forever homes but that doesn't mean the shelter doesn't have other spunky pups that could go home with you.

AND last, but certainly not least, up for Senior Week at PCAR High: GEORGE - voted ‘Most Likely To … Become a Stand-Up Comic’. George is a 7 1/2-year-young hilarious comedian with THE BEST eyes! He has kept us all in stitches with his serious, bored face that was consistently deceived by the the most whirly tail!!! Nice try George … we all saw right through you trying to keep a straight face! George’s comedy act was so popular that he is already ‘Foster-to-Adopt’. Once George tests negative for heart worm, his new family will be able to make this funny man officially theirs! They are in for a life of lots of love and lots of laughs!!!! Happy life, sweet boy, we look forward to seeing you soon! ❤️ #HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH #GeorgeFace #WeLoveOurSeniors #OneByOne #UntilThereAreNone #OptToAdopt #adopt #adoptables #seniordog #seniordogsrock #seniordogsrock #adoptasenior #adoptaseniordog #adoptaseniorpet
