Ticket sales for next month's airshow at the Greater Binghamton Airport will start soon.

Broome County aviation commissioner Mark Heefner said the event is scheduled to be held July 17 and 18. The same show will be presented on both days.

Heefner said tickets will be sold at three different price levels on a per-vehicle basis. Due to the pandemic, the airshow will be a "drive-in" event with specific spaces designated for each vehicle.

The "first-class" ticket will cost $250 per vehicle for a 40-foot by 40-foot space in a VIP area which will provide a "front row view" of the air show. Four meals also will be provided with first-class tickets.

The "business class" ticket will be available for $115 per vehicle for a 20-foot by 25-foot space.

The "economy class" ticket will be offered for $65 per vehicle for a 20-foot by 20-foot space.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Heefner acknowledged "some people are not going to like these ticket costs." But he emphasized that the prices are per vehicle, allowing multiple people to attend using a single ticket.

Heefner said online ticket sales should begin by Monday.

The airshow will feature the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. Several other performers are scheduled as part of the lineup.
