Last night I had the privilege of being part of the 'Taste of the Best' fund raiser for the Boys And Girls Club of Western Broome.  I had the difficult job of being a 'celebrity judge' and taste food from 14 different area restaurants and caterers.  By the way, all were DELICIOUS!  I almost had to call in 'stuffed' from work today.

There were also a ton of silent and live auction items for people to bid on.  Everything from lottery tickets to jewelry to wicker furniture and sports items. A good way to get some holiday shopping done and help out a great cause.

All of the proceeds went to the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome.

Here is the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome's mission statement:

IN EVERY COMMUNITY...boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them.

Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

The Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome Family Center has been serving its community since 1963. Our club expands its services to adults and seniors, offering services to all members of the community in a caring, recreational environment including many low cost services for the betterment of our community.
