Lake Placid, NY is vying to host a portion of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games. A successful bid would make history as the first time some events would be held outside the host nation.
The New York State Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) was created in 1980 to oversee the facilities associated with the Olympics. They continue to make sure the facilities are purposefully reimagined to keep the communities and mountains enticing. Now they are involved in making a new ride at Gore mountain, the largest in the state.
"You can be heartbroken for this 15 year old girl and at the same time be heartbroken that every other skater in this event will have to compete knowing that the competition is not clean," Adam Rippon tweeted.
