The days of SNL’s traditional promo may be behind us, as Benedict Cumberbatch, Dave Chappelle and now Kristen Wiig have all donned new formats to promote their respective hosting gigs. And while we’re at it, SNL was bound to do the “mannequin challenge” sooner or later, so let’s just play this one out as quick as possible, okay?
This past weekend’s SNL offered a sobering reaction to Donald Trump’s presidential win, a concept the series has continually taken flack for helping to normalize. Now, it seems Alec Baldwin will retire his version of the Republican billionaire, also claiming that NBC denies SNL the ability to officially endorse either political party.
Dave Chappelle practically quit show-business over the endless association with his viral Chappelle’s Show characters, to the point few presumed we’d ever see them again. Well, it seems we owe The Walking Dead’s frustrating cliffhanger a debt of gratitude, as Chappelle took his SNL hosting as a chance to revive a number of Chappelle’s Show favorites … at least to kill one off.
SNL seems to be cementing a new approach to promos after Benedict Cumberbatch last week, so if you’re looking for laughs this morning, you may not find them here. Watch the Chappelle’s Show host make a dramatic entrance in our first taste of this weekend’s SNL debut.

Tom Hanks had us a bit worried that SNL would forgo its Wednesday promos for a look back at the Inferno star’s eight previous hostings, but the man always delivers. See for yourself, as Hanks and Leslie Jones enjoy a round of mimosas, before being chased off of NBC’s roof.
I am a HUGE fan of 'America's Got Talent' on NBC; it's a different type of show that allows musicians, magicians, contortionists, mind readers to all be on the same stage from 12-years-old to 100-year-olds! Well last nigh AGT had their finale, were 10 performers compete for one last time for America's vote and $1 million...
These days, it'd take at least two years to watch only only one season's worth of #PeakTV, a quarter of which won't even be around a second year. You’d need some sort of absurd television guidance periodical to navigate it all, but because we love you' we've put together an in-depth look at 30 major must-see premieres kicking off as early as August 31.
Come, wrap some barbed wire around your bats and grab a coffee in Stars Hollow, as we descend into the madness that is Fall TV 2016!
