Local officials are looking for your help in finding the person who defaced the statue of Christopher Columbus over the weekend.

The Broome County Government Security Division on Monday released this photo of the person who they say spray-painted the downtown Binghamton statue, which sits outside Broome County Supreme Court:

Security officials say the act took place on Sunday at 2:56 p.m.

Pictures of the statue show anti-police messages in yellow spray paint on the statue and on the wall near a set of stairs at the courthouse.

“Let me be perfectly clear. Lawlessness will not be tolerated in Broome County and we will work to find the person who did this and bring them to justice,” said Broome County Executive Jason Garnar in a press release.

Garnar also said Servpro quickly responded to the statue to clean up the markings.
