Columbus Statue in Downtown Binghamton Vandalized Again
The Christopher Columbus monument in downtown Binghamton has been defaced by vandals again.
Yellow spray paint was used in the latest incident, which was discovered Sunday. Anti-police messages were scrawled on the stone monument and the neighboring Broome County Courthouse.
Broome County Executive Jason Garnar posted pictures of the latest vandalism on Twitter.
In a statement, Garnar wrote: "Lawlessness will not be tolerated in Broome County."
Garnar said "we will work to find the person who did this and bring them to justice."
At least one surveillance camera is located near the scene of the vandalism.
Although a $2,500 reward had been posted for information in connection with the 2017 vandalism incidents, no arrests were made.
