Steve Carell Is Reuniting With ‘The Office’ Creator For a New Show Called ‘Space Force’
Back in November, the cast of The Office had a mini reunion during Steve Carell's Saturday Night Live monologue, which further pushed buzz in the rumor mill that a reboot could be in the works. On Wednesday (January 16), Netflix all but squashed that talk while still exciting The Office fans. How is that possible? Well, Carell and the beloved TV show's creator, Greg Daniels, will be gifting us with a new workplace comedy series to get excited about.
The show is called Space Force and it's based on President Trump's proposed 6th division of Armed Forces of the same name. The announcement was made in dramatic fashion via a video clip on Twitter.
“On June 18, 2018 the Federal Government announced the creation of a 6th major division of the United States Armed Forces,” reads text scrolling across footage of Earth from space.
“The goal of the new branch is to ‘defend satellites from attack’ and ‘perform other space-related tasks’ …or something,” the text continues. “This is the story of the men and women who have to figure it out.”
Carell will not only have a hand in the creation of the show, but will star in it as well.
