Authorities say the "Quality-of-Life" detail was conducted by the police department in conjunction with the Broome County District Attorney's Office, the Broome County Sheriff's Office and New York State Police.

According to police chief Patrick Garey, the operation utilized uniform and plainclothes officers who saturated the village to "target all levels of offenses that affect quality of life."

Garey said there was a special emphasis on drug interdiction and disruptive conduct.

Three of those arrested were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Two were arrested for violating probation and one person was accused of endangering the welfare of a child.

In addition to the arrests, police conducted 41 vehicle stops and issued 22 traffic tickets.

Garey said the "Quality-of-Life" details in Endicott will continue throughout the summer.
