Spoilers ahead for Riverdale Season 2.

Archie and the gang are officially back in action.

Just under two months after its cliffhanger Season 2 finale, Riverdale has begun filming for its upcoming third season, and the cast and crew are already laying the foundation for more drama.

"The streak is alive. Day 1 of of each season of #Riverdale involves the #Coopers. Missed my girls," tweeted Mädchen Amick, who plays Alice Cooper, alongside a photo of her with on-screen daughters Lili Reinhart (Betty Cooper) and Tiera Skovbye (Polly Cooper).

That doesn't reveal many specifics, but it certainly hints at more danger ahead for the Coopers, who took the brunt of Season 2's big twists. Not only did Betty track down and take in her long-lost half-brother only to discover he was an imposter who murdered her real brother, but her father, Hal Cooper (Locklyn Munro) was revealed to be the Black Hood killer who'd been wreaking havoc on the town.

Now reeling from their newly fractured family, the Cooper women will have to figure out how to press forward. In the finale, Polly rather ominously invited a friend from the mysterious farm she'd been staying at to help them recover, heavily suggesting this new arrival could bring more harm than good.

Elsewhere, Riverdale stars have shared a few peeks behind scenes, from Reinhart, Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge), and Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Cooper) lounging on a hammock in bathrobes to having to film with little clothing in chilly weather. See more pictures below.
