Police raced to Otsiningo Park north of Binghamton after receiving a report that a man had been robbed at gunpoint.

The incident at the Broome County park in the town of Dickinson was reported shortly after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Broome County government security officers were assisted by sheriff's deputies and New York State Police.

Initial reports indicated a man had been robbed at the park. There apparently were no injuries.

A few minutes after police arrived at the park north of Bevier Street, officers were observed interviewing a couple of people.

Law enforcement personnel and vehicles were staged next to a parking lot just east of Interstate 81.

As the investigation began, parents continued to play with their children nearby, apparently unaware of the police presence.

People who were jogging and walking dogs in the park told a reporter they had not seen anything out of the ordinary before police showed up.

Broome County security officials could not be reached Wednesday evening to comment on the investigation.
