Here's something that I hadn't thought about before. Are you quarantined? Are you stuck inside? Do you miss your friends? Are you bored, lonely or stressed? Then you know the life of a shelter animal.

I saw a story recently that said people have been adopting cats and dogs while being quarantined. If you're thinking about adopting an animal, consider the Broome County Humane Society, 167 Conklin Avenue in Binghamton.

They receive no government funding and rely on fundraisers, adoptions, and donations. With social distancing taking place, it's almost impossible to do fundraisers at the moment.

It's only $25 to adopt a pet that will make a difference in your life. I have a dog and two cats from the BC Humane Society and couldn't be happier. Finally, let's talk about donations.

They are accepting monetary donations, you can go here to help them out online. They are also looking for pet food donations. You can stop by Creature Comforts, Endicott Agway, Harpursville Farm & Garden or Ross Park Zoo and drop off your donation there.

Since we are talking about animals and being quarantined, it reminds me of something that I read. "Now I know why my dog runs right out the door when it opens. They've been stuck inside all day."
